[17/04, 18:54] Adhavan: Sabi dream aur uska realisation ke madhya mein sarkar… Hmm [17/04, 18:57] Adhavan: Pyaar ko bhi… Maut ko bhi
I finally got my bike, I wrote this to a dear friend a few days into waiting for the bike to pass layers of government. Registration, transport, realising how much of the bike was just taxes, RTO’s weird requests of ID cards: An aadhar and a ration card and many more anxieties…amidst and after all of this, I got my bike. I do not wish to write about the feeling of riding my bike around. It appears more reductive than speech to write, and less real than simply driving or sharing the ride with you, the reader and the future retrospector who might read the archives of my weeks.
I noticed the new Pattinapakkam Fish Market to house the relocated shops from the beach:

I understood the Maduravoyal-Port Expressway with the help of Vivek. Vivek finished mapping the project, you will see it as a pink-white line following the course of the coovam from the right of the Victoria War Memorial (Port Entrance) to Vanagaram. I also realise that the trucks that have been standing in front of my house, are related to the construction of ramps for the expressway on the shanthi colony section. I cannot imagine what this many pillars on the coovam will cause to the communities alongside the river and for the river ecosystem itself.

A friend and I went to the Adyar estuary at the end of Pattinapakkam. We went on mount road, saw the Thousand Lights mosque and I realised how much of Mount road was new to me.

We visited the ‘Neidhal Marandha Nagaram’ exhibit (The city that forgot the coastal land). It was held at Spaces, Besant Nagar over the weekend.
